Lapphunds have proven their worth in many fields. They are showing that they are capable of doing therapy work, working in schools under the Responsible Owners Scheme, Obedience, Agility, Jumping and Herding Instinct Tests/ Trials.

Picture gleaned from unknown website ( if this is yours- please let me know so I can ask permission to use it :>))

Those owners who are working their dogs in this manner should be congratulated as I personally am too lazy to do this form of work. It is beneficial to the link with the owners and to the dog through keeping them occupied and their mind active.

Sue Sharp of Janoby Kennels has taken Kiki through all stages of the Responsible Pet Owners Scheme and works with Kiki in Kindergartens and Schools teaching children the correction way to approach and handle unknown dogs.  Magnus goes to work with Chrissy and absolutely loves it. He visits each f the clients to have his cuddles, even goes onto excursions with them.

Jacqualine Lincoln of Armahani Lapphunds has worked Kulta to his CCD and has worked to his HIC. Not bad for a boy who is a tad unenergetic.

Vanessa Brotto of Articmal Kennels has taken Blaze to his HIT and was the first in Australia to do this at one of the first testing opportunities that arose.

Chase's new owners took him to school for a show and tell lesson. She gave the class a powerpoint display demonstrating the breed. All the kids were happy to pat Chase after the talk. I think he enjoyed it too. We apologize for the faces blanked out but due to media releases this was the best option.
